Hellbound Season 2 “Potential” Release Window and More!

After a long wait, Netflix has finally confirmed the anticipated return for Hellbound Season 2 coming in late 2024.

Netflix had renewed Hellbound for a second season back in 2022 which got into production in mid-2023. Finally, in 2024, the second season would be arriving with some big changes notably in the lead actor meaning the replacement of Yoo Ah-In in the role of Jung Jinsu by Kim Sung-Cheol.

The series was one of the biggest K-Dramas to be released in 2021 only second to the worldwide phenomenal Squid Game. The show has been critically acclaimed whilst carrying a 97% Fresh rating on RottenTomatoes.

Since the first season had been released several months ago, fans had stopped expecting any news on renewal and were convinced that the series would undoubtedly NOT return for a second season.

However, when the news broke at the Netflix TUDUM event, everyone was left surprised by the renewal announcement.

What To Expect In Hellbound Sesaon 2?

The official synopsis says that the second season would unleash a chaotic world, run and exacerbated by continuous hellbound decrees.

The second season sees lawyer Min Hyejin from Sodo, The Truth Society, and the Arrowheads tangled amidst the resurrections of the former chairman Jung Jingsu and Park Jungia.

Kim Hyun-Joo plays Min Hyejin, a lawyer who fights against the group of fanatics who worship Jung Jingsu and the New Truth Society (or the Arrowheads). Kim Sung-Cheol takes on the role of Jung Jingsu who had previously concealed his own ‘hellhound past’ to protect the laws, decrees, and the institution.

When Can We Expect to See the Season 2?

Given that the first season’s filming began in September 2020 before ending in 2021 – it is a given fact that the second season would be airing in Q2 as the filming was wrapped up in 2023 itself.

At the Netflix South Korean Next on Netflix event, it was confirmed that Hellbound would return in Q4 – 2024, and this means it could be anywhere between October to December.
