Down the Rabit Hole “Confirm 2024” Netflix Release Date!

“Don’t listen to everything your father says.” – Netflix has revealed an official trailer for the Mexican satire dramedy film called ‘Down the Rabbit Hole’ by Mexican filmmaker, Manolo Caro. Interestingly, it is the alternate English title for the Spanish-based book with the same name ‘Fiesta en la Madriguera’.

The story of ‘Down the Rabbit Hole’ follows the life of 10 years of Tochtli, who has been raised in opulence and rich culture. His lavish lifestyle contrasts with the darkness that creeps in from his father’s criminal activities – thereby, allowing Tochtli his ‘lavish life’.

This is about a young Mexican kid who is as spoiled as spoiled can get – he wants a hippo above all else. Some say that the story of this movie reminds them of Pablo Escobar’s infamous ‘cocaine hippos’ which might even be a reference that influences the idea of why Tochtli also wants one anyway.

What is the Official Plot of the Movie Down the Rabit Hole?

Tochtli is a rich man’s son – who loves hats, dictionaries, samurai, guillotines, and anything French – however, he wants an African dwarf hippopotamus for his private collection.

His father, Yolacaut is the leader of a major cartel and thanks to his power and money, is willing to get him anything on the face of this earth – even an endangered species.

The family lives in a hideout in Mexico with a bunch of shady people and Tochtli’s tutor Mazatzin,  who believes the world is filled with injustice. Despite the harsh realities, these people see life as a game and nothing more.

Miguel Valverde Uribe stars as Tochtli, an intelligent and spoiled boy of a drug lord, who at first glance seemingly has everything for him – and when he doesn’t, his father does the impossible to fulfill his desires.

The film also stars Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Raul Briones, Teresa Ruiz, Alfredo Gatica, Mercedes Hernandez, Pierre Louis, Lizeth Selene, Debi Mazar and Daniel Gimez Cacho.
