Men’s Journal

Talking about the incident, Dev said that everything that could have gone wrong actually went wrong, while shooting for the first action scene, Dev had to act as a dummy for his co-star who had to break several pieces of porcelain in the bathroom and while doing it so, Dev heard his hand snap and he realised that he broke his hand.

Dev said that he still went on to continue with the shoot because he felt like if he went down, the movie would too, including the 450 crew members who were present during the shoot. Dev asked his producer to keep the injury secret and by the end of the day, Dev’s hand was like an elephant’s foot.

Upon meeting a doctor, Dev’s hand was fixed with a screw, and he was advised to not put any kind of pressure on his hand. But Dev had other plans as the Slumdog Millionaire actor went for the shoot the very next day and did what needed to be done to complete the film.

Later during the show, Dev showed off a t-shirt in which there was a sketch of his hand’s injury made by the film’s crew, and Dev jokingly said that it was that one screw in his hand that kept the movie’s shooting going.
