In what promises to be an in-depth look at the Cold War’s history, Knappenberger takes viewers on an exploration from the creation of atomic bombs during WWII to the chilling upsurge of nuclear wars and into the intricacies of modern geopolitics driven by past rivalries.

Director Brian Knappenberger recounts a tragic story of Cold War-era violence. The documentary additionally shows the fall of the Soviet Union with the rise of Russian politician Vladimir Putin.

The recently released trailer shows the horrific events of the Cold War and how, despite changing forms, the issue lingers and haunts humanity. The continuation of horrible war crimes indicates the threat of nuclear war.

The brief trailer includes several interview clips and historical videos depicting the horrors of political schemes and secret societies.

“The US is the only country that has used atomic weapons in warfare,” a reporter says in the trailer. It emphasizes the critical need to tackle institutional sanity and nuclear power, especially the new Cold War, an unstable hot war.

One of the more fascinating characteristics of ‘Turning Point: The Bomb and the Cold War’ is its discussion of the ongoing risk of nuclear war. The documentary warns that historical worries are not different from today’s headlines.

The series’ discussion of Russia’s recent invasion of Ukraine highlights the ongoing tension that was present throughout the Cold War and continues to this day.

Who Will Appear in Turning Point: The Bomb and the Cold War!

The series includes over 100 interviews filmed in seven countries. They feature interviews with seven current or past international leaders, including NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy,  Estonian PM Kaja Kallas, past CIA Director Robert Gates, & former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.

It will also feature major Cold War characters, such as the son of German protest leaders Julius & Ethel Rosenberg, who played a role in bringing down the Berlin Wall.

It will also include one of the final conversations with nuclear activist Daniel Ellsberg, who described the highly classified US atomic program as “institutional madness.”

Turning Point: The Bomb and the Cold War will be released on Netflix on March 12.
