The K-drama featured a hilarious teaser depicting the real hardship of marriage in the modern generation. Queen of Tears tells the story of Hong Hae In, a third-generation chaebol & director of her family’s conglomerate business, Queens Department Store, and Baek Hyun Woo, a low-level employee who subsequently becomes an authorized director of Queens Group after marriage.

The peculiar couple falls in love and has a relationship that results in the ‘marriage of the century”. However, as reality has shown, getting married is not a smooth ride; instead, it is more of a hand swing in which the absence of equal efforts from each side leads to frustration, jostling, and arguments.

At the start of the teaser, Hong Hae pledges to her lover that she will never make him cry. However, when their marriage’s honeymoon phase fades, and life sets in, cracks start deepening, and distance increases between the two, with Baek Hyun hopelessly trying to fill it while Hong Hae seems cold and distant.

Even on their anniversary, when Baek Hyun is eager to celebrate by delivering an exquisite bouquet for his wife, she asks about its significance. Baek Hyun is frustrated and hurt beyond measure, but he puts up with it for quite some time.

He eventually decides to divorce her after weeping to himself in his weak times. It needs to be seen if the couple will be able to get their happy days back & fall in love with one other again or whether they will part ways forever.
