Kate Winslet Got World Domination upon Her Mind in the Latest ‘The Regime’ Trailer.

The Regime trailer, released a few hours ago, depicts Kate Winslet as a severe European leader trying to keep her grip on the government with her most trusted soldier, Matthias Schoenaert.

Corporal Zubak, portrayed by Schoenaerts, is just the boot-licking guy Winslet’s Chancellor wants on her payroll as she rises the political ladder.

While she was doing quite well alone, frightening her inner circle, the Corporal’s help and loyalty added a spring to her dictatorial step. Corporal Zubak, a true ride-or-die, instantly ties himself with the Chancellor, backing her every decision, no matter how absurd they may be. The teaser is full of dark comedy.

The RegimeRegime, directed by Stephen Frears & Jessica Hobbs, is a political drama with satirical comedy that follows the ‘rise to power’ fight over one year in the royal residence of a modern European ruler.

The brief trailer also hints at dark comedy in a few places, such as the scene in which Winslet’s husband is forbidden from visiting her without official permission. The dialogue and interaction between Schoenaert & Guillaume Gallienne is satirical.
