Population 11 Official Trailer Is Out Now to Watch!

Stan Original Series Population 11, starring some of Australia’s most extraordinary BTS talent, brings their comedy to small-town Australia. And if you saw the incredible true-life Netflix documentary Last Stop Larrimah and hoped it could be made into a drama TV series, here is the next best thing.

Ben Feldman headlines Stan and Lionsgate’s ‘Population 11’. This original series is poised to be a massively enjoyable and jam-packed trip, both as a thriller and a comedy.

The 12-part series is based on the reported missing case of Paddy Moriarty, who was last seen in the remote Northern Territory town of Larrimah around December  2017. It was also the subject of the new Netflix documentary Last Stop Larrimah.

The story revolves around a guy (Darren Gilshenan) who goes missing from a small outback town of just 12 people and his estranged son Andy, portrayed by Feldman, who travels from the United States to find him.

Cassie (Perry Mooney), another outsider, comes to Andy’s help, and they find themselves in more dangerous situations as they investigate the town’s mysteries. It’s a classic caper full of twists and turns (and dark humor) as several people on the program are given the suspect treatment.

The Cast and Crew of Population 11

Feldman is joined by an all-star ensemble that includes Katrina Milosevic (Wentworth) as Sgt. Geraldine Walters,  Perry Mooney as newcomer Cassie Crick, and Darren Gilshenan (Stan Original Series No Activity) as Pruden’s missing father, Hugo Drivas.

The series also features Chai Hansen (The Newsreader) as Gareth Biggins, Emily Taheny (Shaun Micallef’s Mad as Hell) as Audrey Denning, Karis Oka (Erotic Stories) as Shoshanna Ling, Fiona Choi (The Family Law) as Charmaine Ling,  Genevieve Lemon (Stan Original Film Christmas Ransom) as Valerie Hogarth, Rick Donald(Australia’s Sexiest Tradie) as Leon Croydman, Pippa Grandison (Frayed) and Steve Le Marquand (June Again) as Maureen and Trevor Taylor,  Stephen Curry (Stan Original Series Ten Pound Poms) as Noel Pinkus, Tony Briggs (The Twelve) as Jimmy James, William Zappa (Stan Original Series The Tourist) as Cedric Blumenthal, Sachin Joab(Lion) as Petey P and Chris Kirby (The Matrix Reloaded) as Dom.

Lloyd was the showrunner, and the writing team included  Julia Moriarty, Steve Toltz, Sarinah Masukor, Michael Bond, and Zoe Pepper. Ben Young & Helena Brooks directed with O’Donnell, who served as setup director.

Lloyd, O’Donnell, Feldman, Chloe Rickard, and Jason Burrows serve as executive producers, with Bridget Callow-Wright & Melissa Kelly of Factor 30 Films also producing.

Stan, Lionsgate, and Screen NSW sponsored development, while Screenwest, Lotterywest, and the Western Australian Regional Screen Fund supplied significant production financing.

Population 11 is scheduled to air on Stan starting March 14th.
