Sara is prepared to give birth to her second child in a month and during this critical stage, sorrow befalls her as she is left widowed and surrounded by people with whom she has a bone to pick with.

Let’s get one thing first however – the actors in the movie do a fantastic job and Sara (played by Sanna Sundqvist) is especially a stunner with her portrayal as a grieving widow who is struggling to get on with life and breaking through normalcy.

Her performance however makes a statement as it overshadows everyone else’s – be it her force of character, her appearance, or her emotions mirroring through the lens. The way she’s written is painfully beautiful, and we’re crushing over her!

As we know, Sara is unhappy and extremely angry with people after her husband’s death but we didn’t mention that it is her sister that Sara is angry with – for choosing their father’s abode after their parents’ divorce.

Considering it as abandonment on her part, and that is the foundation stone of her bitterness, the anger built into her personality.

Amid the story, we are given hints of what happens when children are born into houses where adults are not prepared for a family – and society has always placed significance on the family system without really understanding the inside story from behind the curtains. The sad thing is that this is a conversation no one is ready to have with comfort.

Thank You, I’m Sorry is a painfully personal journey, relatable as it deals with a lot of self-hatred, anger, disappointment, and reaching a point where you finally learn to accept happiness.

The thing is that we should all be permitted to answer back to someone who pisses you off, because how else are you supposed to suppress your anger whilst maintaining a relationship?

The movie might not receive the attention it should but it’s certainly a steal if you consider watching it!
