Josh Duhamel and Minka Kelly To Star In Ransom Canyon!

Published by

Get ready for a new Western saga! Ransom Canyon will be released on Netflix, featuring Josh Duhamel and Minka Kelly. April Blair’s new love drama is based on Jodi Thomas’ novel series of the same title.

Ransom Canyon features Josh Duhamel & Minka Kelly in a Virgin River-style series.

Netflix has announced the two leads for its next family drama, which will be familiar to fans of Netflix’s feel-good dramas such as Virgin River, Sweet Magnolias, and Ginny & Georgia. Josh Duhamel and Minka Kelly have been cast as the leads in the modern Western romance.

Staten Kirkland, “the owner and only occupant of the gigantic Double K Ranch,” will be played by Duhamel, who is struggling to save his Texas property from opposing forces.

Meanwhile, Kelly plays Quinn (whose family name in the novel is O’Grady, but has yet to be confirmed by a Netflix press release), a prior concert pianist from New York who returns to Ransom Canyon for a fresh start.

Duhamel is most recognized for his part in the Transformers trilogy, although he has also appeared in The Lost Husband and Love, Simon. He appeared in the short-lived Millarworld series Jupiter’s Legacy on Netflix.

Meanwhile, Minka Kelly is well known for her roles in Euphoria and Friday Night Lights on HBO.

What Is Ransom Canyon About?

Netflix

The Netflix drama focuses on Jodi Thomas’ novel series Ransom Canyon. Based on the show’s logline, it’s a “romance-fueled familial mystery and contemporary western saga that graphs the connecting lives of three ranching families, all set amid the rugged extent of Texas Hill Country.”

“In this new dramatic series, the lives, loves, and goals of four families collide against a beautiful yet cruel landscape, worth fighting and dying for.

Even though two authors wrote the stories, Ransom Canyon contains some striking similarities with Virgin River in that the male lead is a local business owner, and the female lead is a newcomer to town who comes from the city.
