Why Natalie Portman Think Children Should Not Work In Hollywood?

Among very versatile and renowned actresses Natalie Portman, has recently revealed some strong opinions of hers against the working of children in Hollywood.

During one of her recent interviews, the actress expressed her concerns regarding the negative influences of the acting industry on young children’s mindsets and thoughts that all impact their mental health and development.

One of the main reasons that Natalie Portman is against is children’s high risk of exploitation in the film industry.

An industry that demands schedules, time, and immense pressure can lead or manipulate any children in their most precious period of childhood. Portman said that she fears that the suit of name and face can engulf children in the cloud of judgments according to their performances.

Another reason for her to this aspect is the damage to children’s potential emotional, social, and psychological circle. Portman believes that in Hollywood where everyone is hustling suffers from mental, emotional, and psychological problems at least for some time, which she doesn’t want children to suffer from.

Hollywood is a place that stands for fame but also for criticism, negative impacts, and many more unreal expectations, and to deal with all these one needs to be prepared very well, she thinks childhood is a period of age which is very vulnerable and should be like that way only not to be wasted upon thinking about standards, criticisms or any kind of pressure, as these can lead to depression, sleeping disorders and anxiety primarily.

In addition to this Portman strongly believes that Hollywood cannot steal children’s precious moments of childhood by limiting children from having normal friends, normal lifestyle, burdens, tons of pressure, socialization or even pursuing one’s hobbies, Hollywood is no one to decide about the future of youth.

Instead of working or trying to work in Hollywood Portman believes that children should focus more on their academic life, more on education, about their personal growth, and spend their time exploring things.

She thinks that these activities are way more vital for any child to his mental development that will lead his paths in his future.

As Portman started her acting career when she was just 12 she knows the pros and cons of a child very well, she has witnessed the problems and challenges ahead in the path, that’s why she strongly thinks and objects to children working in Hollywood at a very young age, despite exploring other things and passion that are important for a children’s growth mentally and physically both.
