Iman Vellani Speaks About The Marvels Low Box Office Performance!

Iman Vellani grabbed lots of media attention in 2020 when the 21-year-old Canadian actress of Pakistani origin became the first Muslim actress to feature in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a superhero. She made her debut as Kamala Khan in Marvel Studios and Disney+’s television miniseries Ms. Marvel.

The series made by Bisha K. Ali was released in 2022 and Kamala received tons of appreciation for her stunning performance, she also won the Saturn Awards for Best Performance by a Younger Actor in Streaming.

Upon her big success and stellar performance in the streaming genre, Iman Vellani was finalized for a role in the recently released film The Marvels which is a sequel to Captain Marvel. The Nia DeCosta directorial American superhero film is a continuation of the television miniseries Ms. Marvel.

The movie features Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel, Monica Rambeau, and Kamala Khan aka Ms. Marvel, the movie was made with a budget of over 220 million USD and it was released on November 7th. Since the release of the movie, there has been mixed reactions and the number tells the reality, it recorded the lowest box office numbers ever in MCU history with an estimated collection of just over 46.1 million in its opening week, it also witnessed a 79% dip in the second week since the release and this has stunned everyone.

Iman Vellani Is Not Bothered by MCU’s Record Collection.

Recently Iman Villani gave an interview where she was asked about how she feels about the record-low collection. She said that she doesn’t want to focus on something which isn’t in her control.

It is a matter of concern for the makers and distributors, she also said that she finds herself unrelated to the box office numbers and she is just happy that she completed the film and people close to her have loved it.

Vellani being a young smart girl also referenced author Stephen King’s tweet where he expressed his opinion on why Ms. Marvel is getting hate, and he believes that it’s nothing but adolescent hate towards girls.
