Doona! Netflix Original Worth Watching or Not!

Doona was released on October 20th, 2023 on Netflix. Netflix has done it again – this time it’s attempting to expand the K-Drama horizon by releasing ‘Doona!’ which comes as an adaptation of the popular webtoon ‘The Girl Downstairs’.

The Plot of the Debut Series Explained!

Directed by Jee Jeong Hyo (popularly known for Crash Landing on You, Book and Life on Mars), with the popular production team Studio Dragon.

The K-drama revolves around a college student Lee Won Joon, a boy next door who falls in love with his neighbor Lee Doo Na (A former K-pop star). However, this impossible relationship is challenged when viewers find out that Doo Na is actually hiding a secret that could potentially ruin their relationship.

Who Is Cast In the Series?

Bae Suzy portrays the character of Lee Doo Na, the main vocalist of a popular idol group and the obvious center of attraction and popularity. However, she announces her sudden retirement and stays in a house in a college town – where Lee Won-Jun goes.

Yang Se-Jon is portrayed as Lee Won-Jun, a boy-next-door ordinary college student who is a regular Joe.

Although he is ordinary on the exterior, he harbors an extremely warm and pure heart that provides ample space for Doo Na to rest.

The supporting cast includes Lee Yu-bi, Park Se-wan, Lee Jin-wook, Go Ah-Sung, and Lachicha.

Although Netflix hasn’t officially announced a release date for this romantic K-drama series, the original preliminary release date was scheduled for October 13th, however, this date has been pushed back by a week. Thus, the updated release is set for October 20th, 2023. Here’s hoping!

There will be a total of nine episodes but we don’t know the current run-time for each episode. You will just have to tune in and watch the romance unfold!
