“The series follows the two protagonists on their seemingly parallel journeys to the French coastal town of Saint-Malo when their stories eventually intersect.”

Marie-Laure, a blind French girl, flees German-occupied Paris with her father to protect a valuable diamond from a Nazi Gestapo official, and the two take protection at her reclusive uncle’s beach house.

Meanwhile, in Germany, a teenage orphan named Werner discovers a rare talent for repairing radios. He is recruited by Hitler’s regime to track down illegal broadcasts, but despite his best efforts, he is unable to locate any until the day he picks up a girl’s voice on a frequency he used to listen to as a child.

As bombs rain down on Saint-Malo, Werner and Marie-Laure’s secret radio connection is put to the test. Will they be able to survive the destruction and maintain their faith in humanity?
