Race to the Summit 2023 Netflix Original Documentary Details:

Race to the Summit follows the story of two of the fastest climbers in the world – Ueli Steck (The OG fast climber with a record of 2 hours and 47 minutes) before Dani Arnold broke his Eiger speed record in 2011.

This led to a spark between the two that subsequently gave birth to a duel across the great north faces of the European Alps  – and here’s the interesting part! The pair have climbed the Alps solo without so much as a piece of safety equipment.

Talk About Dare-Devil Much?

A German sports documentary film, Race to The Summit is directed by Daniel Lachat and Peter Mortim, it takes both viewers and participants on a fearless journey of alpine climbers, Ueli Steck and Dani Arnold as they embark on a dare-devil challenge filled with a tint of rivalry to set speed records on Switzerland’s north peak.

As the trailer unfolds, we see glimpses of the Swiss Alps and two alpine climbers – we see Robi Bosch, a photographer and alpinist talk about Ueli Steck whose speed record on the Eigher Heckmair route stands proud at 2 hours and 47 minutes – which is pretty impressive.

Steck jokes with the photographer as if he climbs mountains on a daily basis – like it’s pretty normal! “Robi, anything else you need me to do  or that would be good to have?’ we see Steck asking the photographer casually, ‘Hold my arms up?’

As the teaser progresses, we see that Steck takes a glimpse at his childhood where he points out that he was into playing hockey – which worked out pretty well since he’s a world champion climber.

Before the official trailer closes, we see that the documentary will be out on 4th October – and we can’t wait to see how the two professional climbers make it to the Alps.
