Netflix has released the first trailer for Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft, their new anime series.

The highly anticipated Tomb Raider: The Legend Of Lara Croft series debuted its first teaser trailer at Netflix’s Drop 01 event, highlighting its current and forthcoming animated projects.

The trailer gives a first peek at the new animated series starring the legendary archaeologist. In a new clip, Lara Croft’s next great adventure begins.

Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft Returns in Intriguing Teaser on Netflix. The new trailer teases what fans may anticipate from the adventurous archaeologist.

Croft took a long and breathless aim with her bow and arrow before falling into dark caves and rising bloodied and injured against a wall of fire in the sneak peek feature. 

While there is no dialogue in the clip, the franchise will embrace the grittier ambiance of previous games.

The clip, full of heavy breathing sounds, depicts the titular individual traveling through several locales. The character also discovers a family photograph and an antique wall artwork. 

While Jonah featured in both Rise and Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Sam & Reyes disappeared after their journey with Lara on Yamatai and were never seen again. By having Lara reunite with them, this anime continuation might wrap up what happened to them and shut the book on their story.

If they don’t show up, Lara can finally explain what took place and why they’re no longer a part of her travels.

It’s a mystery that fans continue to debate about to this day, so having a solution in The Legend of Lara Croft might provide closure for this perspective on the character.

The trailer concludes with Lara shooting an arrow that says “A Netflix Series” and landing on a map that goes on to name the studio and the series title.

This anime will start where the story left off, depicting Lara on her first adventure as the protagonist fans have known from her early days while also establishing why fans adore her in the original games.

This could feature the first time she receives her dual-wielding pistols and uses them as her hallmark weapon, symbolizing her transition from the reboot to the original games.

The Cast and Characters of Tom Raider: The Legend Of Lara Croft.

Hayley Atwell, the MCU actress, plays Lara Croft. Earl Baylon, well known for his depiction of Jonah Maiva in Shadow of the Tomb Raider, will also return. Allen Maldonado will portray Lara’s tech-savvy buddy, Zip, rounding out the cast.

The original collaboration between Netflix and Legendary Entertainment for the Tomb Raider brand extension was revealed in January 2021.

The series will stay loyal to its video game beginnings, picking up from the adventures after the reboot trilogy. In 2024, Netflix will release Tomb Raider: The Legend Of Lara Croft.
