Harry Potter Actor Michael Gambon Passed Away at the Age of 82!

It is a very sad day for the film industry as it has lost a gem today, legendary actor Sir Michael Gambon has passed away at the age of 82.

His death was reported on Thursday afternoon, it was a very peaceful death as he took his last breath in the hospital with his wife Anna Miller, and son Fergus Gambon. Michael was battling with complications related to pneumonia and was hospitalized for a long time.

Gambon was an English actor who was born in Dublin, his acting career started six decades ago and he made his first appearance at the iconic Gate Theatre.

Gambon became a widely popular star and rose to prominence in his late 30s and started collecting awards and accolades during that time, his iconic voice and charming on-screen presence were a treat for the fans and his acting was on another level, he made his film debut in 1965 with British film Othello which was directed by the Laurence Olivier’s.

Gambon once said that after his first film, legendary film producer Albert R. Brocolli who produced James Bond, came up to him and asked to audition for the role to replace another legendary actor George Lazenby, although it never happened.

Rise To Prominence

Gambon had an illustrious career in which he featured in many different roles but his Magna Carta and the highlight of his career was the role of Albus Dumbledore in the movie Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.

His role as Hogwarts’ headmaster is and will always be among the most iconic in the history of the cinema.

He then went on to feature in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 and Part 2.
