In episode 8 of the anime, Tendou and his friends are going to visit his parents’ village. On the journey, they come across a person in a van who is being attacked by a large group of zombies.
When they try to help, a person wearing traditional warrior clothes comes out of the van and defeats all the zombies.
This person is Beatrix, a foreigner who came to Japan because she loves Japanese culture, but she arrived during the zombie pandemic.
Beatrix has a van filled with fish, and she really wants some sushi. Even though it’s risky, Akira offers to help her get to Takahashi, where there’s a sushi chef.
Along the way, they run into more zombies, but Shizuka deals with them smartly. Finally, they make it to Takahashi, have some delicious sushi with the chef, and then decide to look for a hot spring because they haven’t had a good bath in a long time.

In the end, after arriving at an outdoor hot spring, Tendou and his friends are really happy because it’s been a long time since they had a good bath.
It’s a delightful surprise to find an empty hot spring, so Tendou and Kencho excitedly jump right in. Shizuka wants to use the women’s bathhouse, but Beatrix tells her there’s no hot water available there.
Tendou and Kenchou suggest sharing the men’s bath, but Shizuka understandably finds it repulsive.
Beatrix clarifies that in Japan, it’s common and culturally respected to have mixed-gender baths, known as Konyoku, so there’s no need to feel embarrassed about it.
Just as Beatrix is about to join them, a zombie attack startles them. The hot spring is infested with hidden zombies underwater.
The group flees and takes shelter after scaling a large rock wall, falling asleep together. Later, Tendou, thirsty at night, stumbles upon a natural hot spring in the forest and jumps in, only to discover Shizuka bathing naked. They agree to enjoy the hot spring while staying on different sides of a large rock.
Shizuka apologizes for her earlier rude comments about love and opens up about her upbringing and her fear of falling for the wrong person.
She says she wants to find someone to love who she can be as comfortable and open with as she is with Tendou. Things get awkward, but Beatrix and Kenchou soon arrive, interrupting their conversation.
