Olivia Rodrigo Released the GUTS Album!

Published by

Olivia Rodrigo, a three-time Grammy Award-winning singer and composer, has released her sophomore album, “GUTS.”

The second album by Olivia Rodrigo is titled “GUTS”. It was released on September 8, 2023, and two singles before it. It was Rodrigo’s follow-up to his well-received debut album, “SOUR.”

On June 30, 2023, “Vampire,” the first single and third song on the album, and on August 11, 2023, “Bad Idea Right?” the second single and second song on the album, were both released.

After releasing her debut album “Sour” in 2021, she hasn’t released a new body of work for two years. The 12-track album was produced by Dan Nigro. She spent six months writing the songs for the album, and it was finished around a week before the lead single “Vampire” was made public. Almost two years after, the former Disney star shook the globe with “Guts.”

Olivia Rodrigo GUTS Album Release!

NME

Over two years have passed since the former Disney star’s debut solo album, Sour, rocked the globe. Records were broken, and Spotify playlists were filled with songs like “Traitor,” “Good 4 U,” “Hope You’re Okay,” and “drivers license.”

Numerous fans have been showing up to be ready for the release, whether by pre-saving Guts on services like Spotify and Apple Music or by monitoring the official countdown.

An album that is certain to be a diverse combination of melancholy melodies, breakup songs, and tales of growing up in the spotlight is something we are anxiously awaiting.

Rodrigo and Sour’s critically acclaimed sophomore performance centers on their friendship and subsequent fight with Joshua Bassett, another cast member from High School Musical.

Early indications suggest that Guts would talk about her breakup with producer Zack Bia only a year after the end of her romance.

But because “SOUR” was such a hit in 2021, “GUTS” in 2023 was allowed to delve further. Rodrigo was able to hone her writing abilities and approach poetry from a fresh, more experienced viewpoint.

The song “GUTS” was considerably more unified sonically. Most of the songs visually complemented one another, and the ones that jumped out to me—the speedier, more rock-leaning tracks had equal weight.

Rodrigo will launch a pop-up shop in New York City to mark the album’s release, thanks to a collaboration between American Express and Spotify.

Limited edition goods, including t-shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts, bumper stickers, dad hats, beanies, and more, will be sold at the store.

Through unique prizes, picture opportunities, and immersive art pieces, the shop will immerse fans in the world of “GUTS.”
