D.P. Season 2 Ending Explained.

Published by

D.P. Season 2 was released on 28th July 2023 on Netflix, and here are the details you might have missed in the series.

With a year left in Jun-ho’s enlistment and the way the last episode closes, one may anticipate D.P. to return for Season 3.

The last five episodes fly by in a flash. This Korean drama is highly underappreciated. As we approach the end of Season 2, we have to think about what we can do to bring these stories to a broader audience.

D.P. Season 2 conclusion leaves a lot unresolved. Will justice and the truth triumph, or will the system’s cogs find a way to conceal the facts? Let’s see it.

D.P. Season 2: Who was the owner of the USB drive?

The Envoy Web

Beom-gu appears at the courts and presents the USB disc to Seo Eun, which he had all along. According to flashbacks, Jung-ho acted as a lure and a distraction so they could bring the USB drive to trial without interruption. Ho-yeol is angry with Jun-ho, claiming that they have ruined their life.

What was the Verdict of the Trial?

Netflix

The government has admitted responsibility for the fatalities and injuries caused by Kim Ri-ru’s attack on his coworkers, based on all of the proof on the USB drive, and compensation will be paid. The judgment on the acknowledgment has been postponed.

The acknowledgment is profound, demonstrating how battling against the system can be emotionally draining, but it’s worth disclosing the truth.

What is the Fate of the D.P. Unit?

Beom-gu is instantly detained and accused of disclosing confidential information. He knew this would happen, so he personally delivered the USB to the court rather than allowing Jun-ho to do so and face consequences. Jun-ho and Ho-yeol sob as he goes away.

He is afterward seen doing time in prison. Jun-ho, Ho-yeol, and Ji-seop visit him. Beom-gu believes it was all worthwhile and does not regret accepting responsibility for anything. They did not win or lose this time, but he thinks they will win the next time.

Simultaneously, Ho-yeol is finally dismissed from the military, whereas Jun-ho still has 364 days to serve.

When Ho-yeol states he’s done, Jun-ho replies he’s just getting started. The two pals say their goodbyes and split ways.

Jun-ho appears to be in better spirits as he smiles his way to the base. He also observes Sung-woo in civilian clothing with the others through the bus window.

The final scene depicts a healthy Suk-bong approaching Jun-ho, who is glad to see him getting back on his feet.

D.P. concludes emotionally, restoring order to the characters’ lives. The narrative shows how much a D.P. officer’s life has engulfed them. The writers’ choice to end in a calm, serene tone seemed appropriate and was an excellent narrative choice.
