The upcoming fantasy television series ‘The Chosen One is adapted from Peter Gross and Mark Millar’s book series ‘American Jesus.

The plot revolves around a boy named Jodie who finds out that he possesses the abilities like that of Jesus Christ like turning water into wine, making crippled walk, and maybe raising the dead too.

But while the YaquĆ­ and Evangelical leaders try to make him use his powers to save humankind, Jodie only wants to impress his crush and stand up to bullies.

As he struggles to come to terms with his destiny, he begins to realize the truth about his identity. Bobby Luhnow is set to star as Jodie in the series. It is scheduled to premiere on Netflix on August 16, 2023.
