Insider

In the end, ever since Jemmy begins mentioning encounters with the nuckelavee, a horse-like demon from Orcadian folklore, Roger becomes aware of a mysterious figure pretending to be the demon around Lallybroch.

After his class, Roger spots the man and gives chase, realizing that the supposed nuckelavee is none other than William “Buck” Buccleigh MacKenzie, the illegitimate son of Dougal MacKenzie and the time traveler Geillis Duncan from the 20th century.

As distant ancestors from the same family, Buck’s presence as the nuckelavee is tied to his time-traveling journey from the 18th century to the 20th century.

Roger and Buck have crossed paths before, with their history revealing that Buck attacked Roger when he embraced Morag MacKenzie, Buck’s wife and likely Roger’s great-great-grandmother, causing deep trauma to Roger.

In an act of vengeance, Roger confronts Buck now, still seeking answers about Buck’s time-traveling motives and hoping it’s not merely to frighten their children, Jemmy and Amanda.

The revelation of Buck’s true intentions promises to add further intrigue and suspense to the upcoming episodes of the series.

What Happened To Jamie?

Showbiz Junkies

As the Revolutionary War erupts, Jamie finds himself torn about potentially fighting for the Rebels.

Nevertheless, upon thoughtful reflection, he has a change of heart, coming to the realization of the intricacy of the conflict and the absence of a distinct right side to align himself with.

He firmly decides not to take up arms against his son William or the Mohawks, the people of his nephew Young Ian.

Similarly, he doesn’t want to oppose the Rebels, as their demands seem justified. Initially intending to leave for Scotland to avoid involvement, Jamie reluctantly joins the Militia to support the Rebels.

As the Rebels make their escape from Fort Ticonderoga, Jamie’s enlistment period reaches its conclusion.

However, following a meaningful conversation with Daniel Morgan, the leader of a group of riflemen, Jamie chooses to extend his service in the militia.

Jamie’s perspective shifts when he understands that the people around him need his help and that any war becomes his war when his fellow men suffer.

Realizing the gravity of the British Army’s plans against the Continental Army, Jamie cannot abandon his comrades solely to avoid facing his son on the battlefield. This realization leads him to commit to Morgan’s cause beyond his initial enlistment period.
