Leighton Meester and Adam Brody to Star In River Wild.

Returning to the big screen together, Leighton Meester and Adam Brody play the leads in an action thriller River Wild.

The first trailer for the upcoming film River Wild, in which the long-standing couple, who have been married since 2014, feature, is currently available. Adam and Leighton previously collaborated on the films The Oranges in 2011 and Life Partners in 2014.

Beginning in August 2023, Ben Ketai’s brand-new thriller with a PG-13 rating will make its SVOD premiere on Netflix. To escape their daily lives and see nature, the Hartman family takes a little vacation. To adventure in a canoe along a river remote from civilization, they travel to the highlands for this reason.

They had no idea that their tour guides were a gang of thieves rather than tour agencies or locals who specialize in guided tours. Their trip will abruptly become a nightmare as they struggle to escape their kidnappers and the river’s perils.

Despite not earning particularly stellar reviews, The River Wild grossed nearly $94 million globally, based on a budget of $45 million, and may be regarded as a moderate success. This is especially true considering its outstanding cast.

A distribution agreement between Netflix and Universal Pictures’ direct-to-video business, Universal 1440 Entertainment, includes the streaming service’s acquisition of the film.

Compared to the primary Universal arm, this subsidiary is often renowned for producing films with lower budgets and for using Universal-owned intellectual property.

In Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, he most recently provided the voice of Patrick O’Hara/Web-Slinger.

Ben Ketai is the director of the new movie, a remake of Curtis Hanson’s 1994 thriller with Kevin Bacon and Meryl Streep.

According to Killam, who adores the original and saw it “opening weekend and many times since,” the new movie diverges from its source material.

Meester and Brody met while working on The Oranges in 2010, and they later got married in 2014.

Meester is well-recognized for her role as Blair Waldorf on Gossip Girl. With recent roles in Shazam and Shazam: Fury of the Gods, Brody is best known for his four seasons as Seth Cohen on The O.C.
