Xiaomi Pad 6 Review: Budget-Friendly Creativity And Productivity!

Xiaomi Pad 6 receives several minor upgrades without any price increases. The Pad 6 has large shoes to fill since its predecessor did most things right by giving excellent hardware at a reasonable price.

Xiaomi Pad 6: Design and Display

The Xiaomi Pad 6 is an 11-inch tablet with a slim and compact design. The design is simple when holding the tablet vertically, with a power button on top & a volume rocker on the right.

The rear contains a square camera module that extends somewhat, given that the chassis is just 6.5mm thick.

This also means that the tablet is relatively light and may easily fit into your messenger bag alongside the books. The cover is magnetically attached to the back of the tablet, and a groove allows the screen to stand up. 

The keys are adequately spaced and have the appropriate amount of travel, but there’s no trackpad. One may also purchase the smart pen, which happily adheres to the top of the tablet and charges.

The 1800 x 2880 pixel screen is suitable for content consumption and is one of the tablet’s strong characteristics. The screen is clear and may be reasonably bright if necessary. Dolby Atmos allows the four speakers bordering the screen to shine through.

Price and Availability

On 18 April, Xiaomi introduced the Pad 6 Pro in China. On 13 June, the standard Pad 6 was released in India, but there was no mention of the Pro model, and on 7 July, the company stated the Pad 6 would be offered in the UK, but there was no mention of the Pro.

The Xiaomi Pad 6 starts at roughly $290 in China for the regular 6GB/128GB model, and the Pro starts at around $360 for 8GB/128 GB.

Only the 6GB/128GB Pad 6 will be offered in the UK, and it will cost £369, which is quite a deal more than it costs in China, even after factoring in an additional 20% for VAT. Gravity Grey, Gold, and Mist Blue are the available colors.

Specifications and Performance

The Xiaomi Pad 6 has a Snapdragon 870 processor, 256GB of storage capacity, and 8GB of RAM. Regarding software, the Xiaomi Pad 6 runs Android 13-based MIUI 14 for Pad.

The custom Android skin is an and gives a reasonable number of functions that contribute nicely to most productivity and personalization needs. This makes the tablet suitable for both everyday duties and games. The MIUI 14 is capable of multitasking. 

While the tablet handles duties effectively — including multi-tab browsing — there is a slight warmth near the charging connector, but nothing frightening. This is not exacerbated when gaming, even at high refresh rates on the display.

Cameras and Battery Life

The 13MP camera performs admirably in bright light, but in low light, it creates a bit of distortion. The camera on the front of the device is suitable for making video calls.

If you take the gadget to work, the 8840 mAh battery can last a few days.

Verdict

The improved design, more detailed display, better performance unit, and all-day battery life come at no extra expense over the previous generation, which is a huge advantage.

A fingerprint sensor, for example, is still absent, as is a cellular model. Finally, we expected improved battery life, particularly for video playing. 

Overall, when it comes to providing a pleasant, value-for-money Android tablet experience, the Xiaomi Pad 6 ticks a lot of boxes.
