The Honor Magic V2 is the market’s thinnest and lightest foldable phone. Honor has unveiled the Magic V2, its next foldable phone. And, rather than settling for the most economical alternative, the V2 sees the business go all out to create one of the most elegant, stylish folding phones yet.
Here’s everything we know about this high-end smartphone that will go outside China.
The most striking feature of the Magic V2 isn’t on the inside; it’s the phone’s design. This is the smallest and lightest foldable yet, measuring 9.9mm thick once folded and weighing 231g.
The Magic V2 is merely 4.7mm wide when unfurled and 9.9mm thick when closed, weighing only 231g. In China, it will be available in black, gold, and purple.
However, three other black variants exist, including a ‘Silk Black’ version coated in vegan leather and an ‘Ultimate Black’ version with luxury details such as a gold Honor logo.
There are two displays, of course. Inside is a 7.92 foldable OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and LTPO technology for refresh rate scaling.
It has a resolution of 2344 x 2156 and even supports a stylus, although this is only included in the package with the Ultimate model.
On the exterior, the 6.43 OLED display uses the same 120Hz LTPO tech and has a resolution of 2376 x 1060. It also accepts a stylus.

Honor has officially confirmed that the Honor Magic V2 will be released in China on July 12, 2023, in Beijing. The Magic V2 may arrive in Europe in the autumn, ideally sooner. A launch in the United States needs to be improved.
In China, the Magic V2 starts at roughly $1,250 and goes up to around $1,670 for the Ultimate version, which includes a stylus.
That is only sometimes an accurate predictor of pricing in any foreign release, which will almost certainly be higher.

The Honour Magic V2 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, combined with an Adreno 740 GPU, 16GB of RAM, and up to 1TB of internal storage. The foldable supports twin nano SIM cards and runs Android 13-based MagicOS 7.2 out of the box.

The Magic V2 has a triple rear camera unit with a 50-megapixel primary sensor, a second 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens with optical image stabilization (OIS), and a 20-megapixel sensor featuring a telephoto lens that also supports OIS. A 16-megapixel sensor is used in the front camera.
The Honor Magic V2 has a 5,000mAh battery and supports the same 66W Honor SuperCharge charging technology as its predecessor.
Connectivity options include 5G, 4G, Wi-Fi 802.11ax, Bluetooth 5.3 LE, GPS, NFC, and USB 3.1 Type-C. It incorporates a fingerprint sensor on the side for further security.
Now we must wait and see whether the phone will ever be released outside China.
