Is The Afterparty Season 2 Coming In July 2023?

Christopher Miller created the American murder mystery comedy tv series The Afterparty Season 2 is set to release in July.

The plot of the series revolves around an after-party at a high school in which a murder takes place. Each episode of the series offers a different perspective of characters about what happened at that party.

The series is an exemplification of “the millennial whodunnit” which is a new subgenre of the murder mystery. In this type of mystery, the investigation becomes a medium for characters to seek personal fulfillment, second chances, and an escape from oppressive boring everyday life.

The idea of ‘The Afterparty’ came to Miller during the early 2010s which is influenced by his love for the murder mystery genre. He wanted to make a show in which witnesses will be able to showcase their different perspectives.

Although it was first conceived as a feature-length project, Apple TV+ gave the production an order of eight-episode straight-to-series on June 24, 2020. The first season was released on January 28, 2022, on Apple TV+.

The series was renewed for a second season on March 2, 2022. Apple TV+ released the official trailer of Season 2 on YouTube on June 7, 2023. The Afterparty Season 2, consisting of ten episodes, is set to premiere on Apple TV+ on July 12, 2023, this year.
