Skull Island Ending Explained: Why Does Irene Want to Find Annie?

The first season of Skull Island came to a spectacular finale with Kong facing a new MonsterVerse Titan!

The new Netflix anime Skull Island has eight episodes and is the first television program with a recognized position in the Legendary MonsterVerse. The series, which follows Kong’s activities before Godzilla vs. Kong, gives viewers a deeper look at Skull Island’s nature and puts a new group of humans in danger.

Skull Island: Why does Irene want to find Annie?

Irene goes to great efforts right away to kidnap Annie. She seems unfazed despite losing several of the mercenaries she recruited. Irene also employed Hiro and Mike to seek Annie, it is revealed.

They talked with a GI who informed them of the undiscovered islands, specifically Skull Island. He also warned them that they would not return if they went there. For Hiro, this turns out to be a prophecy.

Irene reveals the truth to Annie that She is her mother. Irene believed her daughter and husband all passed away and were buried. She had the impression Annie had passed out for ten years.

Irene is a very prosperous woman. She used her resources to learn about this and started an extensive search for Annie. Hiro and Mike made up a tiny portion of it.

Who Are the Mask-Wearing Characters?

The squid Titan may be gone, but one Skull Island character has a new challenge following the season finale. Like the one Charlie saw in episode 5, a masked woman caught him.

The mysterious person, accompanied by others costumed as her, swore he’d pay for “what he did to Kong.”

The show doesn’t say who they are, but the fact that they are aligned with Kong might indicate that they are members of the Iwi tribe, who worship Kong in the MonsterVerse. They perished before Godzilla vs. Kong, although they might still be alive on Skull Island.

What they’ll do with Charlie was not stated in the episode, but if Kong can forgive Annie and Dog for taking the necklace, there’s a strong possibility he’ll forgive Charlie as well. Sadly for Charlie, his captors may decide what to do with him rather than allowing Kong to choose.

Skull Island ended with an unexpected time jump.

Annie awoke two weeks later after being knocked unconscious by a hit to the head in the final episode of Skull Island. She was transferred off Skull Island to a city in an unknown world region, much to her surprise.

This implies that when the characters had recovered from the tidal surge, Irene and Sam could summon help by water or air. This course of action had previously been avoided due to the squid’s existence and long-reaching extensions, but his defeat appears to have opened the door for a rescue.

What happened to Mike?

It’s critical to remember that the entire purpose of tempting Kong into a fight with Skull Island’s villain was to open a way for their escape so that Mike could be treated for his ailment.

However, the finale of Skull Island needs to tell if the characters carried out their plan. He was last seen collapsing after saving Cap, prompting Cap to pick him up and take him off into the rain. 

The new human group Charlie met might be the only alternative to medical treatment. They may be aware of a natural remedy that can eradicate the illness.
