Netflix’s commitment to broadening its content and growing its reach in Japan continues with Burn the House Down.

The streaming service has rapidly expanded its Japanese live-action programming, including recent hits like Sanctuary, First Love, and Alice in Borderland Season 2.
Based on Miyuki Miyabe’s manga series of the same name, the series follows the compelling story of a young lady on a journey to discover the truth behind a tragic fire.
Fans of Japanese series and thrillers will be pleased to discover that Burn the House Down will debut on Netflix on July 13, 2023.
The series consists of up to ten episodes, each building on the tense plot and character development. Audiences should expect a dramatic and emotionally packed viewing experience as the show dives into themes of betrayal, retribution, and buried secrets.

Mei Nagano takes on the leading role of Anzu Murata, giving the character depth and heart. Nagano’s previous roles in famous shows like My Love Story! and Hanbun, Aoi demonstrated her versatility as an actor.
Along with Nagano, the series stars Asuka Kudo, Sakurako Konishi, Michiko Kichise, Mitsuhiro Oikawa, Taishi Nakagawa, Yuri Tsunematsu, Kie Kitano, Mari Hamada, and Kyoka Suzuki. The performances will undoubtedly be intriguing because of their combined talent.

Set 13 years after a devastating fire that destroyed the wealthy Mitarai family’s lives, Burn the House Down revolves around Anzu Murata, who lost her mother in the sad catastrophe. With no answers, Anzu looks into her stepmother, Makiko Mitarai, who she feels may have been involved in the fire.
Anzu disguises herself as a housekeeper and joins the Mitarai home to get closer to the truth. As Anzu continues her research, she discovers a web of secrets inside the Mitarai family.
The series promises to take fans on a thrilling trip full of unexpected twists and turns. With each new finding, Anzu realizes that her stepmother is not just a possible suspect but that there might be more to the family’s past than meets the eye.
