With the short series Secret Invasion, the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) adds another fantastic TV program to its action-packed lineup. This upcoming sci-fi TV drama will appeal to fans of a particular eye patch-wearing secret spy.
With many of Earth’s heroes revealed to be Skrulls, the show’s mystery should be whose familiar face we can trust. So, here’s everything we know about Secret Invasion Episode 2. Episode 1 of the show was released on 21st June 2023 and since then fans are waiting for its second episode.
What happened in its premiere Episode?
In the premiere episode of Secret Invasion we learned about various things, I mean where was the actual Nick Fury after the blip, and how did his personality change after the blip?
The episode starts with the background plot of the show, in which we came to know that a group of Skrulls has betrayed Nick Fury and Captain Marvel they are planning to destroy human life from the earth, and for that, the Skrulls have taken the faces of many democrats and agents and planning to start wars between countries by executing small attacks on every country.
Agent Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders) and Skrull who is a friend of Nick Fury, Talos played by Ben Mendelsohn are planning to stop the rogue and bad Skrull group led by Gravik (Kingsley Ben-Adir), finally messaged Nick Fury (Samuel Jackson) and asked him to come back to earth to help her and Talos to fight Gravik.
Then we met Gi’ah played by Emilia Clarke, who is also helping Gravik, because she thinks that the Skrulls have been betrayed by Captain Marvel and Nick Fury as they were promised that they will be helped to find a new home for Skrulls, that’s why they have planned to take revenge from humanity.
At last, Gravik planned a nuclear explosion in Moscow and he succeeded in his plan and also killed Maria Hill in front of Nick Fury. So episode 1 was very moving in terms of plot and execution. After the cliffhanger of episode 1 fans are thrilled and excited waiting for Secret Invasion Episode 2.
When will Secret Invasion Episode 2 be released?
The first episode of Secret Invasion was aired on June 21, 2023. The following five episodes will be released on Wednesdays each week. The weekly episode release has become the standard operating procedure for the MCU’s programs, allowing discussion about the shows to endure longer and deepening the effect of plot and character discoveries. However, Marvel will soon test the binge-watching method.
So as per the released schedule Secret Invasion Episode 2 will release on 28th June, 2023.
Who is in the cast of Secret Invasion?
At the time of writing, the returning cast members include Cobie Smulders (Maria Hill), Don Cheadle (James Rhodes), Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury), Ben Mendelsohn (Talos), and Martin Freeman (Everett K. Ross). Jackson returns in a Marvel TV series for the third time, having previously appeared in ABC’s Agents of SHIELD (together with Smulders) and the What If…? animated series.
They’re joined by Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke, who is playing the role of Gi’ah (daughter of Talos) from the comics, as well as Kingsley Ben-Adir as Skrull leader Gravik, Christopher McDonald, Carmen Ejogo, Olivia Colman to be Special Agent Sonya Falsworth and Killian Scott.
Kyle Bradstreet, creator and chief writer of Copper and Mr. Robot, also serves as executive producer alongside Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige, Brad Winderbaum, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, and Jonathan Schwartz.
What can we expect from Secret Invasion Episode 2?
The plot revolves around an illegal invasion of Earth by the malevolent Skrulls, the alien shapeshifters initially introduced in the MCU in Captain Marvel (2019).
As per Review Geek, Episode 2 may deal with the concussion because of Maria Hill’s death. But we may come to know that Maria Hill is alive somehow as in the IMDb, Cobie Smulders has been credited for 6 episodes in the series Secret Invasion. So we may find out that she is alive and may return in Secret Invasion Episode 2.
CIA Agent Everett Ross will also be back in the following episode although we have already seen him in episode 1, we later came to know that that was a Skrull. So our main Ross will be back in the upcoming episode.
