The entire four-part series All The Light We Cannot See will be released on November 2, 2023! A heart-pounding teaser turns the pages of Anthony Doerr’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel to the small screen.
The story will depict a peculiar bond between a blind French girl, Marie-Laure, and a German soldier, Werner, whose radio frequencies intersect.
The teaser doesn’t completely go into the story; it lays the groundwork, offering more details on the bond between Marie-Laure and Werner. This narrative takes place during WWII in occupied France.
After the Nazis take her house, a little blind girl named Marie Laure is forced to escape the citadel of Saint-Maulo. Werner is a German soldier orphaned as a youngster before being admitted into Hitler’s Youth Academy.
They meet paths as they strive to survive in the face of devastation. It is a story of how kindness shines even in the darkest times.
Werner finds refuge in Marie-Laure’s words of optimism as she transmits her message over the radio waves, which the young German soldier intercepts.
We experience the horrors and terrors of war while bombs are dropped and fires rage in Nazi-occupied France between scenes of the main and supporting players.
The preview only depicts Marie-Laure’s father, a locksmith, and her great uncle, Etienne LeBlanc, a WWI soldier who has PTSD.
Lars Eidinger plays the cruel Sergeant Major Reinhold von Rumpel, a terminally sick Nazi commander on a mission to discover a diamond that is claimed to provide the possessor perpetual life.

All The Light We Cannot See is a pioneering limited series that follows the narrative of Marie-Laure, a blind French girl, and her father, Daniel LeBlanc, as they leave German-occupied Paris with a renowned diamond to keep it out of the clutches of the Nazis.
Marie-Laure and Daniel flee to St. Malo, where they take up refuge with a reclusive uncle who broadcasts clandestine radio transmissions as part of the resistance after being relentlessly chased by a vicious Gestapo officer who desires to obtain the stone for his selfish motives.
However, here in this once-idyllic seaside town, Marie-Laure’s path collides inevitably with the unlikeliest of kindred spirits: Werner, an outstanding teenager enlisted by Hitler’s regime to track down forbidden broadcasts, who instead shares a personal connection with Marie-Laure as well as her belief in humanity and the possibility of hope.
