The second episode of the series ‘Black Mirror’ which is titled ‘Loch Henry’ focuses on Davis who is a well-known young documentary filmmaker and student who decides to revisit his quiet hometown of Loch Henry in Scotland.
Accompanied by his girlfriend, Pia, Davis introduces her to his mother, Janet, and they share memories of their family’s love for an old detective show.
Davis reveals that his father, Kenneth, who was a police officer, tragically died when Davis was a child, leaving his mother devastated. Davis and Pia explain that they are in town to film a documentary about a local man known for protecting rare eggs.
They also reconnect with Stuart, Davis’ childhood friend and the owner of the local bar. Stuart discloses details about Iain Adair, a disliked figure in town who was responsible for Kenneth’s death.
The episode reveals that Loch Henry was once an idyllic tourist destination until a young couple, Dawn and Simon Challis, mysteriously vanished.
Subsequently, it is revealed that Iain had been abducted, subjected to torture, and mercilessly ended the lives of multiple individuals, including the couple who were reported missing, within his dungeon.
Kenneth confronted Iain and was injured, but he died under mysterious circumstances in the hospital.
Pia becomes fascinated with the dark history of Loch Henry and convinces Davis to make a documentary about Iain. They receive approval from documentary producer Kate Cezar and begin filming with Stuart’s assistance.
