When is the release date for Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King?

After a two-year break, Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King has returned. The upcoming anime film will debut on Netflix on June 16, 2023, at 7:00 p.m. JST.

The first look for the movie was announced in October 2022, followed by a trailer two months later. Black Clover is set in a world where magic is vital to daily life.

Who will be in the cast of Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King?

Gakuto Kajiwara and Kana Yki, both Japanese voice actors, will reprise their roles as Asta & Nobel Noelle Silva, respectively. Some of the most memorable characters from the blockbuster anime series will also return. The following are on the list:

What will Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King be about?

The narrative of Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King will follow a new storyline in which revived Wizard Kings from the past desire global dominance.

As previously stated, this film is neither part of the anime series nor the original Black Clover manga. Yki Tabata, on the other hand, has penned a new narrative. Asta and his comrades must battle Conrad Leto, Julius Novachrono’s predecessor, as the Wizard King in the film.

Conrad intends to use the “Imperial Sword” to resurrect three other Wizard Kings — Edward Avalaché, Princia Funnybunny, and Jester Garandaros — and conquer the Clover Kingdom.

As you would expect, Asta will not allow their terrible schemes to take shape, and a full-blown magical battle begins.

While the film is a fresh plot, it has been established to be the canon in the remaining Black Clover TV series. As a result, fans are unlikely to miss this Wizard King showdown.

Where can I watch the Movie?

Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King will not be released in theatre. Instead, the film will be released only on Netflix throughout the world. 

The Black Clover animation is not presently available on Netflix, so it’s odd that the film is premiering there rather than on Crunchyroll. If you’re behind, all four Black Clover seasons are available to watch on Crunchyroll and Funimation.
