Succession has been one of the greatest shows on HBO Max ever, But it’s going to end with its latest release which was Season 4 episode 10. But the fans are confused about Succession Season 5, whether it will happen or not. Here we have a few details about the show.
Succession Season 5 is the bigger question after the most-anticipated episode 4 of season 4, which has been aired on Sunday, May 28th, 2023. The episode’s title is “With Open Eyes” which is 88 minutes long.
13 Emmy Awards winner show Succession premiered in 2018, Since then it’s four seasons 4 have been released and as per the creators season 4 was the last in the series and they are not planning to stretch the story further.
Will Season 5 happen or not?
Jesse Armstrong, who is the creator and showrunner of the show had already told the fans that the show will end with season 4 and hence unfortunately, we will never get Succession Season 5.
In an interview with New Yorker Jesse told the reason behind the sudden discontinuation of the show.
You know, there’s a promise in the title of “Succession.” I’ve never thought this could go on forever. The end has always been kind of present in my mind. From Season 2, I’ve been trying to think: Is it the next one, or the one after that, or is it the one after that?I got together with a few of my fellow-writers before we started the writing of Season 4, in about November, December, 2021, and I sort of said, “Look, I think this maybe should be it. But what do you think?”

So it’s the creator’s decision of ending the show at a very interesting point although HBO had given greenlit to the show, Jesse told them that the story of Succession is ended and it will be the most-liked ending of Succession Season 4.
If you don’t know the CEO of HBO Casey Bloys had shown interest in extending the show for a few more seasons, but it was the idea of Jesse Armstrong to discontinue the show after season 4.
In the same interview with New Yorker Jesse had said that he had in mind that it will end with the last plot which was shown in Season 4’s finale episode.
