Meanwhile, in 1963, Susie reveals to Midge the truth about her past relationship with Hedy, explaining that they were forced to break up due to external pressures. Midge feels remorseful for the pain she unintentionally caused Susie.

Nevertheless, Midge receives an opportunity to be on a show, but to her dismay, she learns that she will be a writer rather than a comedian.
