Major Cast Members In The Film Leave The World Behind
The cast of the upcoming Netflix film “Leave the World Behind” is outstanding, with Academy Award winners Mahershala Ali and Julia Roberts playing the key roles.
Ali stepped in to play the role of George “G.H.” Washington, the homeowner after Denzel Washington withdrew from the project.

What Is The Plotline Of The Film Leave The World Behind?
The story revolves around a family, including Clay and Amanda, their children, Archie and Rose, and their vacation at a Long Island Airbnb.
There, tension increases as a strange Black couple knocks on their door and requests permission to stay.
They introduce themselves as the home’s owners, George and Ruth, and say that there has been a blackout.
However, George and Ruth reveal themselves to be well-off and well-educated, dispelling Amanda and Clay’s original suspicions that they might be the owners of the mansion.
In the midst of a global catastrophe, racial and socioeconomic tensions between white residents and Black owners emerge. As the blackout extends along the East Coast, George and Ruth remain at the Airbnb with Amanda and Clay until the power is restored.
As the group gets ready for a prolonged period without power, strange noises are heard and animals express strange behavior.
When George’s friend George’s son Archie needs medical attention, the family leaves the house, but George’s friend tells them to come back and prepare for whatever is ahead. As the world around them begins to fall apart, the two families are frantically searching for any supplies that might help them live.
As a result, based on what is known thus far about the movie’s plot, Netflix seems to be following the established pattern set forth in the novel.
Sam Esmail will direct and write the movie after Netflix secured the rights to the book in a bidding war in July 2020. The movie was going to be produced by Julia Roberts and Denzel Washington, who was also slated to star in it.
