Following the phenomenal popularity of “Ripping Along the Edges,” Zerocalcare is set to be back with a brand new story in June 2023, with its latest animated show, “This World Can’t Tear Me Down” (Questo mondo non renderà cattivo), exclusively on Netflix, that will continue to build up the world of the writer’s narrative, style, and characters.
Yet, viewers should be aware that this is not a continuation of what we saw in 2021, but rather a whole new tale featuring familiar characters from Michele Rech’s world.

Netflix revealed the debut date of the upcoming animated series This World Can’t Tear Me Down in April, which will be accessible globally on Friday, June 9, 2023, following the release of the first teaser throughout the week of the Sanremo Festival.
The series will consist of 6 episodes, which will run for a duration of 1 and a half hours each.

After quite some years, an old friend returns to his childhood neighborhood and fails to recognize the atmosphere in which he was brought up.
Zerocalcare wishes to assist him but realizes that he won’t be able to help him feel at home and make the right choice in order to find where he belongs in the world.
The series depicts the struggle of being true to oneself in the face of life’s conflicts.
The title, which is based on a track by the Roman singer-songwriter Path, symbolizes a kind of mantra, an expression that Zerocalcare himself reiterates nearly in an attempt to persuade himself, in the most challenging instances, those in which the possibility of making poor decisions and refusing one’s core beliefs in order to get out of problems.

Who is part of the cast in “This World Can’t Tear Me Down”?
Many of the characters, including Zero, Sarah, and Secco, are voiced by Zerocalcare.
Valerio Mastandrea reprises his role as Armadillo, Zero’s conscience, and Cesare, a new character, who performs an important part in the plot.
