The action starts with Given Greta’s love of the Love Boat as a youngster; the next wedding will be held on a boat.

Unfortunately, the newlyweds will have to postpone their wedding when a severe storm breaks out, and the Coast Guard refuses to let the ship leave the pier.

Delilah saves the day, though, by rallying the rest of the group of friends to organize the celebration in a local, extremely filthy dive bar with a nautical motif. As everyone tries to save the day, we discover Delilah will remain in Boston.

When she tells Maggie that she and Eddie are committed to co-parenting work, Maggie wonders whether there could be more sexual chemistry between the two ex-lovers to explore.

Delilah, though, claims she wouldn’t want to do anything to disturb the fresh, pleasant setting they’ve discovered.

Afterward, during the reception, Charlie fiddles with Eddie’s phone and unintentionally plays Jon’s parting voicemail to Eddie, which Gary needs to be made aware of.

Eddie rushes Gary into a back room when Gary furiously confronts his friend there. Gary then shouts at Eddie for hiding the secret. Gary says, “He knew that you loved D,” and adds that Eddie still has feelings for her.

Eddie responds, “It’s very complicated,” to Gary’s statement. Gary needs to be made aware of it. He continues that you are the only thing holding the two of you together right now.

Finally, he implores Eddie to take the risk before coughing violently and getting blood on his hand.

Eddie announces they are heading to the hospital right now, feeling frightened. Gary, however, declines, claiming he doesn’t want to sabotage Katherine’s wedding. He’s okay enough to return to the party and make the toast when he cleans off and gathers himself.

When Delilah picks Eddie up to take him home, he confesses that he is still not over her. She kisses him before he can continue. Less joyously, Gary informs Maggie that he had blood in his cough earlier in the evening, and they proceed straight from the wedding to the hospital.
