The Days is a miniseries that was initially revealed in September 2022. The production for Netflix is being handled by Warner Bros Film and Lyonesse, with Nakata Hideo and Nishiura Masaki combining directorial responsibilities.
This multi-layered show realistically reflects a terrible situation from three separate angles and is based on a thorough investigation over the span of eight episodes. “What exactly occurred on that particular day?”
The narrative attempts to address this issue by focusing on the genuine events of seven intensive days as seen through the eyes of the government, business organizations, and the individuals on the ground risking their lives.

It was recently verified by Netflix that The Days will be released this year in 2023. However, there are rumors going around that the show is now being scheduled for a release date on June 1st, 2023. The show will consist of 8 episodes.
However, there is still no official confirmation by Netflix as of now, all dates for release may be subject to change. So we need to wait for a lil while more for a confirmed date.

Masao Yoshida is an actual person, who inspired the character of Koji Yakusho. As the Tohoku earthquake and tsunami devastated Japan in 2011, he was working as a plant supervisor at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant.
A large magnitude 9.0 earthquake with an ultimate seismic intensity of 7 hit around 130 kilometers off the coast of Sanriku.
An hour following the earthquake jolted Japan’s islands, a 15-meter-tall tsunami swept over the Fukushima nuclear power plant in an instant.
The power plant became unsafe and unmanageable once its cooling function was removed. 3 nuclear collapses occurred, resulting in three hydrogen blasts and the discharge of astonishingly huge amounts of radioactive pollution into three of the four reactors.
If the proper precautions had been taken, there was a good probability that the disaster’s impact could have been minimized.
