Acer Swift X16 Review: 16-Inch Screen with Excellent Performance

Published by

The Acer Swift X16 is a capable computer. The sound system and monitor are excellent, and the keypad and construction quality are excellent.

Additionally, there is a good choice of interfaces, and overall efficiency is respectable. The issue is that, at least in this situation, the new Intel GPU isn’t all that remarkable.

Review of the Acer Swift X16: What you should know

The Acer Swift X 16 is a member of the new breed of 16-inch Windows laptops intended to be multipurpose mobile workstations with a bit of light gaming functionality.

They also feature roomy keyboards with numeric keypads and numerous ports to make connecting peripherals as simple as possible.

In addition, the most recent 12th-generation Intel Core CPUs can handle even the most demanding graphics processing tasks.

Evaluation of the Acer Swift X’s design and build quality

Acer

The Acer Swift X 16 is a conventional but rather attractive machine made entirely of metal. An HDMI 2.1 connection, a 3.5mm audio jack, two Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports, and two USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 connectors are located on the left and right sides, respectively.

When so many competitors are forgoing ports in the name of aesthetics, that is a reasonably liberal deal.

However, the absence of a memory card reader and a separate charging port could be better.

Acer’s standard keypad is used. It is spacious, well-organized, and has a number pad to the right, but the essential action is a little short, despite being accurate and quick.

The two-stage backlight is excellent, and the white-on-black letters are a model of transparency. The fingerprint scanner is incorporated into the power button, which is a component of the primary keypad; this is the only minor complaint I have.

Since the webcam doesn’t support face recognition, the only biometric registration choice is the fingerprint scanner.

The 1080p camera produces somewhat gory pictures, but the video quality is still far superior to that of the majority of 720p webcams, and Acer’s TNR (Temporal Noise Reduction) technology does a decent job of reducing noise in low light. I was also pleased with the microphone array’s audio clarity.

Performance and Battery Life of the Acer Swift X

Acer

The new Arc series GPUs from Intel come in three flavors, with the numbers 3, 5, and 7, and are powered by the 12-core Core i7-1260P CPU. The two 3-series GPUs are entry-level components with a maximum TGP of 30W for the A350M and 50W for the A370M and 4GB of dedicated VRAM.

The A350M0 is timed at the highest frequency of 1,150 MHz, while the A370M is clocked at a maximum frequency of 1,550 MHz. The Swift X 16 makes use of the stronger A370M.
