A travel executive (Rachel Leigh Cook) chooses to take a task to go incognito and learn about the tourism industry in Vietnam, as the story of A Tourist’s Guide to Love shows.

However, when she and her Vietnamese immigrant tour guide (Scott Ly) decide to redirect the bus to experience life and love off the main path, they discover excitement and romance along the way.

A Tourist’s Guide to Love, directed by Steven K. Tsuchida and produced by Rachael Leigh Cook and Joel S. Rice for Muse Entertainment, is based on a script by the Vietnamese-American author Eirene Tran Donohue.

The teaser introduces us to Amanda Riley (Cook), a legendary travel agent whose long-term relationship we watch falls apart after her partner announces that he’s relocating to Ohio.

In response to a coworker’s request, Amanda seizes the chance to visit Vietnam and escape her new world. She encounters Sinh (Ly), her youthful, attractive tour guide, ready to take her on the experience of a lifetime when she arrives.

Amanda explains to fellow travelers that she is prepared to set out on a journey that will help her find herself in between stunning images of the Vietnamese countryside.

We observe as Amanda does just that with Sinh assisting her in savoring every minute, bringing to mind the Julia Roberts-starring Eat, Pray, Love movie.

When Amanda’s ex unexpectedly shows up in Vietnam, just as their relationship starts to take off, she has to decide between safety and excitement.
