Narcos El Chapo Spin Off Series Netflix Release Date, and More.

It’s been a few years ever since the third and last season of Narcos: Mexico released on Netflix, but we may be seeing it again soon, as a new El Chapo spin-off centered in the Narcos realm is in the works.

Gaumont Television will produce the new show as it did Narcos and Narcos: Mexico. We’re hearing that Alejandro Edda is in discussions to revisit his character as Joaqun ‘El Chapo’ Guzmán, which is also not surprising considering that he portrayed the character in 24 episodes of Narcos: Mexico across 3 seasons on Netflix.

Will the storyline continue from where it left off in Narcos: Mexico?

By the finale of Narcos: Mexico, several significant players in the Mexican cartels had been dead, jailed, or had their authority levels threatened.

Amado Carrillo Fuentes “ended up dead” as a result of difficulties with reconstructive surgery, and even if reports that he lived are true, Amado is out of the business and retired, putting the power of the Juarez cartel on the shoulders of his brother Vicente.

Ramón Arellano Félix, a Tijuana Cartel boss, was assassinated before being able to take action against the Sinaloa Cartel. This implies that two of the siblings are feuding for leadership of their cartel, and a conflict with the Sinaloa Cartel is looming.

Although imprisoned, El Chapo was able to gain far more power and authority. Following the advice of Héctor Luis Palma Salazar, he had Hector taken and transported to another prison, placing him in control of the Sinaloa cartel and El Mayo.

El Chapo’s ascent to prominence as one of the Cartel’s wealthiest, most powerful, and also most serious offenders has been built with blood and cocaine.

El Chapo’s $2.5 million breakout from jail in 2001 made him one of the most sought criminals, with repeated attempts to apprehend him spearheaded by US officials, but he was able to elude arrest for 13 years.

Around that period, an unparalleled amount of cocaine reached the United States, potentially making El Chapo one of Mexico’s richest men.

The DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) considered his wealth and influence to be comparable to that of legendary Colombian drug king Pablo Escobar. El Chapo’s fortunes were estimated to be worth $12.6 billion in total.

The 2000s were also a conflict time for some of the Cartels, as they fought for the power gap left by the demise of the Guadalajara Cartel.

For the narrative to begin up essentially where it left off, with El Chapo still very much in prison; from there, we’ll witness his capacity to lead the Sinaloan Cartel from behind bars, until his final breakout after facing deportation to the United States.

Thereafter, we’ll watch the continued conflict between Mexican cartels as El Chapo and his Sinaloan Cartel emerge larger, more powerful, and wealthier. The initial season will probably revolve around 15 years with his ultimate capture in 2014.
