Paul Lieberstein has developed the American comedy-drama series Lucky Hank adapted from Richard Russo’s 1997 novel- ‘Straight Man’.

The plot revolves around William Henry Devereaux, Jr., known as the titular Hank, who is an unlikely chairman of the English department of Railton College, a badly underfunded college in Pennsylvania’s rust belt.

Besides struggling with that inconvenient post, he also finds it difficult to cope with the midlife crisis. The series also follows his wife named Lily, who also starts to question her life choices as the vice principal of a local high school.

American actor Bob Odenkirk and actress Mireille Enos portrayed Hank and Lily respectively in the series. It has been released on AMC on March 19, 2023.
