The upcoming Australian comedy-drama series ‘Wellmania’ is based on the novel Brigid Delaney- ‘Wellmania: Misadventures in the Search for Wellness’.
The plot revolves around a middle-aged woman named Liv Healy who has been living his life according to a live fast die young philosophy. But when a major health crisis hits her life, she begins to question her life choices and tries every method she can to reclaim her health on her journey to wellness.

When Is Wellmania Releasing?
The series was first ordered on 11th December 2021 as an eight-episode series with Celeste Barber announced as the lead cast member. Other cast members joined on 21st May of that year.
An official trailer of the series was released on YouTube on 15th February this year. The series is set to be released globally on 29th March 2023.

Celeste Barber-
Portraying the lead character Liv Healy, we will find Australian media personality and comedian Celeste Barber in the series. Barber played the recurring character of Bree Matthews in the medical drama series ‘All Saints from 2005 to 2009.
She was also cast as Barbara in ABC’s television comedy series ‘The Letdown from 2016 to 2019.
JJ Fong-
The role of Amy Kwan will be portrayed by New Zealand actress JJ Fong in the series. In 2013 Fong was cast as the main character Alice in the New Zealand comedy-drama series ‘Go Girls’.
From 2013 to 2014 she starred as Jessica the main cast member of ‘Flat3’ while also serving as a co-creator. In the role of one of the main characters Betty, she was cast in the comedy-drama series ‘Step Dave’ from 2014 to 2015.
Then from 2016 to 2017, she played the recurring character Ruby Flores in the New Zealand primetime soap opera ‘Shortland Street’. And in 2021 she played the main character Jaime in the black comedy web series ‘Creamery’.
Genevieve Mooy-
Australian actress Genevieve Mooy is another cast member of the upcoming series. In the first two seasons of the Australian comedy series ‘Frontline’, Mooy was a regular.
She also starred in the 1985 Australian comedy movie ‘Emoh Ruo’ and was nominated for an AFI Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role.
Lachlan Buchanan-
Portraying the role of Gaz Healy, we will see Australian actor Lachlan Buchanan being cast in the upcoming series.
He played Charley Prince in the third season of the Australian tv drama series ‘Blue Water High’ in 2008. In the 2011 American sitcom, ‘Working Class’ he starred as Scott Mitchell. From 2015 to 2016 in the American soap opera ‘The Young and the Restless’, Buchanan played Kyle Abbott.
Emmett Dixon was cast in ABC’s American action drama series ‘Station 19’ from 2020 to 2022. He also appeared in six episodes of the same named reboot of the 1980s primetime soap opera ‘Dynasty’ as Ryan from 2020 to 2022.
Remy Hii-
Malaysian actor Remy Hii is going to star as Dalbert Tan in the upcoming series. In 2013 he starred as the lead character Van Tuong Nguyen in the four-part Australian biopic miniseries ‘Better Man’ for which he was nominated for an AACTA Award for Best Lead Actor in a Television Drama.
From 2013 to 2014 he portrayed the recurring character of Hudson Walsh in the Australian soap opera ‘Neighbours’. As Prince Jingim, Hii was cast in the drama series ‘Marco Polo from 2014 to 2016 servings as a main cast member.
Playing the recurring character Sam, he also starred in the 2017 Australian tv drama series ‘Sisters’. As Isaac Huang we will see Australian actor Alexander Hodge in the upcoming series. From 2018 to 2020, Hodge was cast in the American comedy-drama series ‘Insecure’ in the role of Andrew Tan as a recurring cast member in season three and as the main cast member in season four.
Then in 2020 and 2021, he starred in two series as a recurring cast member- as Eric Decker in the police procedural crime drama series ‘Tommy’ and as Philky in the superhero drama series ‘Black Lightning’.
Simone Kessell-
New Zealand actress Simone Kessell will star in the upcoming series in the role of Helen King. She played the lead character Dr. Stella O’Shaughness in the 1998 Australian drama series ‘Medivac’.
In 2016 she played another lead character- Queen Ahinoam in ABC’s drama ‘Of Kings and Prophets’ based on ‘Books on Samuel’ from The Bible.
As Rebecca, she starred as the lead cast member in the 2018 sci-fi thriller series of ABC ‘The Crossing’.
