Netflix has finally acquired the rights to Chris Hicks’ 22-page renowned short story, Titled, I Am Not Alone, which will be scripted by Misha Green, who will also direct the movie which will star Jessica Chastain.
After a 72-hour battle amongst 5 bidders, the bidding eventually came down to Netflix and Warner Bros. Jessica Chastain, who won the Best Actress Oscar for the movie ‘The Eyes of Tammy Faye a year ago has also been roped in to play the lead.
A significant reason for the decision was that Green intended this to be streamed on an OTT platform, and what could be better than Netflix?
Rumors have been making rounds that Netflix has committed to acquiring the storyline for a high 6-figure sum, with a mid-7-figure sum promised to Misha Green (Lovecraft Country’s) to produce the script and direct.

What is the I Storyline for I Am Not Alone?
I Am Not Alone, is adapted from a 22-page short story by Chris Hicks of the same name. The film will follow the narrative of a mother of a young girl whose circumstances change when she begins seeing creatures as a result of her excruciating headaches.
It is based on a serious sci-fi drama about a woman compelled to protect her family against a danger only she is able to see.

What’s the Netflix release date for I Am Not Alone?
Netflix hasn’t disclosed any release dates for I Am Not Alone, but given its early production stage, we may expect it around 2024, though this is could change depending upon the amount of time the production and post-production stage may take.
The movie is definitely going to be pretty amazing considering the incredible plot, oscar-winning lead, and the entire bidding process to acquire rights to the storyline.
