The eleventh Star Trek series Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is all ready to be released on DVD and other Home media in the United States. It is part of the expanded Star Trek Universe of Alex Kurtzman and serves as a spin-off of the seventh tv series ‘Star Trek: Discovery‘.
The plot of Strange New Worlds is set a decade before the events of ‘Star Trek: The Original Series’. It revolves around the starship USS Enterprise as its Captain Christopher Pike and other crew keep on exploring new worlds throughout the galaxy.
When Is Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Releasing on Home media?
The first season of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds released on Paramount+ on May 5, 2022. It ran until 7th July for ten episodes. It is scheduled to be released on DVD, Limited Edition Steelbook formats, and Blu-Ray in the United States on March 21, 2023.
But this Home media release will also include an extra ninety minutes full of bonus features, deleted scenes, audio commentary, and a gag reel.
The first season has won a Primetime Emmy nomination with several other awards. A second season is also under development and will presumably be released in 2023.

Anson Mount-
Christopher Pike who is the immediate predecessor of Captain Kirk as the captain of the USS Enterprise is portrayed by American actor Anson Mount who appeared in the role for the first time in 2019 in ‘Star Trek: Discovery‘.
Mount is the fourth actor to play this role. His other television credits include ‘Line of Fire’, ‘The Mountain’, ‘Hell On Wheels’, ‘Inhumans’ etc.
Ethan Peck-
The fan-favorite character of half-Vulcan half-human Spock has been reprised by Ethan Peck from ‘Star Trek: Discovery’.
Peck portrayed Patrick Verona as a main cast member in the family tv sitcom ‘10 Things I Hate About You from 2009 to 2010.
His other television credits include the recurring role of Herman Ackermann in Showtime’s 2020 historical dark fantasy tv series ‘Penny Dreadful: City of Angels’.
Jess Bush-
Australian actress and visual artist Jess Bush can be seen in the role of Enterprise’s civilian nurse Christine Chapel being the second actress to play the role after Majel Barrett in the original series.
Christina Chong-
English actress Christina Chong has portrayed the newly assigned chief of security of The Enterprise- La’an Noonien-Singh. Her other television credits include ‘Monroe’, ‘Line of Duty’, ‘Ill Behaviour’, ‘Bulletproof’ etc.
Celia Rose Gooding-
The character of Nyota Uhura, a cadet on the starship specializing in linguistics, is played by American actor Celia Rose Gooding in the series. She is the third actress to portray this character.
Melissa Navia-
The role of a highly skilled pilot and veteran Erica Ortegas is played by American actress Melissa Navia in the series. She previously appeared in minor roles in ‘Common Charges’, ‘Dietland’, ‘Bull’ etc.
Babs Olusanmokun-
The role of the chief medical officer of The Enterprise- Joseph M’Benga is starred by Nigerian-American actor Babs Olusanmokun. His television credits include ‘Roots’, ‘The Widow’, ‘Too Old to Die Young’, ‘The Drowning’, etc.
Bruce Horak-
The starship’s chief engineer Hemmer is portrayed by Canadian actor Bruce Horak in the series. He previously appeared in minor roles in the tv series ‘Transplant’, ‘In the Dark’, and ‘Warehouse 13’.
Rebecca Romijn-
Una Chin-Riley aka Number One who is the first officer of the starship and second-in-command to Captain Pike has been portrayed by American actress Rebecca Romijn.
She is the second actress to play the role after Majel Barrett in the original series. She first portrayed this role in ‘Star Trek: Discovery’.
Her other television credits include ‘Just Shoot Me!’, ‘Pepper Dennis, ‘Ugly Betty’, ‘Eastwick’, ‘NTSF:SD:SUV::’, ‘King & Maxwell’, ‘The Librarians, etc.
These are the main cast members of ‘Star Trek: Strange New Worlds’. A number of recurring characters have also been portrayed by other cast members.
