Published by

Aquaman 2 is all set to release. Fans are super excited to watch their favorite watery superhero once again. But more than the actor Jason Momoa himself, the one who is excited about the release is DC itself. Why? Because of how superhit the first Aquaman was.

And now, Aquaman 2 will be hitting the theatres later this year. But the news that is going viral more than the movie itself is that Jason Momoa is going to exit the franchise after the sequel of Aquaman.

Is Jason Momoa Saying Goodbye to His Aquaman Version?

New York Post

Looks like Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom will be hitting the theatres with sad news for the DCEU fans. The information that has been doing rounds on the internet is that Jason Momoa is going to leave the character after Aquaman 2. Is the news true?

Sadly, it is true. The reason behind this is the poor response that the sequel of Aquaman is getting after its screening. Reviewers said that the test screenings got a very poor response from the audience. Some viewers even walked out.

Some other viewers think that the James Wan-directed Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom has to be one of the worst DC ever. And it seems like Jason took all this criticism to heart. And thus, he decided to leave the character once and for all.

What Is Jason Momoa’s Future At DCEU?

Variety

Although it’s not official that Jason Momoa will leave the Aquaman franchise, it won’t be wrong to say that the rumor is quite strong. Insiders have confirmed that the news is true.

Insiders have also said that Mamoa will be playing Lobo from the DC extended universe. An insider named Jeff Sneider said,

“I hear it’s terrible and that’s why Momoa is gonna be Lobo going forward. But they can’t say that yet because then it would be a lame duck… and DC is hoping to wring another billion out of the box office. The first one was awful too, so not a huge surprise.”

Lobo is a villain sort of character that is after the lives of superheroes. Imagine Jason as a negative character. It won’t be a wrong thing to say that he will be pretty cool.
