The fantasy television series ‘Shadow and Bone’ is adapted from Leigh Bardugo’s book series on Grishaverse. The plot revolves around an orphan named Alina Starkov who finds out that she is a rare Grisha, able to control light, called the Sun Summoner.

English actress Jessie Mei Li portrayed Alina Starkov in the series. It premiered on April 23, 2021, on Netflix. A second season was renewed in June of 2021 which is set to be released on March 16, 2023.

This fantasy drama series is adapted from Tom Wheeler and Frank Miller’s same-named illustrated novel.

The plot follows Nimue, a teenage sorceress, and Arthur, a charming young mercenary, traveling together to find Merlin so that Arthur can deliver him an ancient sword and Nimue finds a way of saving her people.

Katherine Langford, Devon Terrell, and Gustaf Skarsgård portrayed Nimue, Arthur, and Merlin respectively in the series. It was released on July 17, 2020, on Netflix.

The Shannara Chronicles – Number of Seasons: 2

This fantasy tv series is adapted from Terry Brooks’ fantasy novel trilogy ‘The Sword of Shannara’. The plot is set thousand years after humankind has collapsed and revolves around an elven princess, a human, and a half-elf embarking upon a journey in order to resist a demonic army from wiping out the universe.

The series ran from January 5, 2016, to November 22, 2017.

Locke & Key – Number of Seasons: 3

This fantasy horror drama series is adapted from Gabriel Rodríguez and Joe Hill’s same-named comic book series. The plot revolves around the three Locke children moving to their father’s family home after his death with their mother and finding a number of keys that open magical doors.
