At the Berlin Film Festival that happened recently, all the Hollywood stars made their presence. But Matt Damon’s arrival was the most talked about. This was because the actor announced that he will be making a project based on the recent bad happenings in Ukraine.

Yes, you read it right. Matt is very dearly working on his new project. And that is not going to be anything like you have seen before.

At the Berlin Film Festival, the Good Will Hunting actor shared that he has inside people in Ukraine who are researching the Ukraine-Russia war. Matt will use that research in the near future to make a film on it.

Matt Damon’s Upcoming Project Is Based Upon Ukraine.

Matt Damon was at the Berlin Film Festival as one of the producers of Kiss The Future. It’s a documentary that is based on the Siege of Sarajevo during the 1990s. The documentary is based on the lens of U2’s solidarity.

But that is not what this article will talk about. It’s about Matt’s upcoming project that he is trying hard to make. And it’s based on the Ukraine-Russia war.

When asked about whether the actor seed himself involved in a project based upon Ukraine in context with Sean Penn’s Superpower that also came to Berlin Film Festival, Matt said the following words –

Matt also mentioned that he has never met the president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy. But he was lucky enough to meet Olena Zelenska, his wife at the U.N. Assembly in 2022.

About Kiss the Future

Matt shared how his journey to be involved in Kiss The Future started. The movie is based under the banner of his joint film company with Ben Affleck, Pearl Street Films.

Damon was approached by Yugoslavia-born Canadian, San Francisco-based director Nenad Cicin-Sain. All this happened when the movie was only in the development stage.

Matt was unable to keep himself away from the project as mentioned by him at the Berlin Film Festival. He also said that he has been a major part of the editing stage of the movie.
