Will Smith Attend Oscar 2023 or Not?

Last year, the Oscars were marked with the not-so-Will-Smith type of accident. Unless you are a kid with no internet or an alien from another planet, you must know what Will did in last year’s academy awards.

Chris went a little too far and made fun of Will Smith’s wife Jada Pinkett Smith. He made a joke about her hair that was not very much liked by the Hollywood actor.

‘The Pursuit of Happyness’ actor reacted to the whole hair joke by going to the stage and slapping Chris very hard. This shocked everyone presents there.

Chris was brave enough to react smoothly to the whole thing by making a joke out of it and absorbing the slap. The whole ceremony went on as planned after.

The official statement that was made by the board was as follows, “The 94th Oscars were meant to be a celebration of the many individuals in our community who did incredible work this past year; however, those moments were overshadowed by the unacceptable and harmful behavior we saw Mr. Smith exhibit on stage.”

The statement continued, “During our telecast, we did not adequately address the situation in the room. For this, we are sorry. This was an opportunity for us to set an example for our guests, viewers, and our Academy family around the world, and we fell short – unprepared for the unprecedented.”

The board banned Will from attending the Oscars, “The Board has decided, for a period of 10 years from April 8, 2022, Mr. Smith shall not be permitted to attend any Academy events or programs, in person or virtually, including but not limited to the Academy Awards.”
