Were you(Ana de Armas a fan of Marilyn Monroe before you played her in Blonde?
Ana de Armas Said I really didn’t know about Marilyn. I had watched a few of her movies and knew she was an actress, but nothing deeper than that.
Where was your first kiss?
I won’t say at what age, but it was in Cuba. I had a lot of freedom. We could play in the street and go to the beach and come home only after dinner. And then we went out again until we had to go to bed.
One of those days I was playing in the park, we went behind the trees and we kissed.
Did you see him again?
Yes. We were neighbors so I had no choice.
What was it like playing such an iconic character?
Ana de Armas shared In Blonde, we recreated a lot of scenes from the movies she starred in. I’ve seen them all multiple times, the ones we recreated I’ve watched repeatedly. The director, Andrew, is very precise and detailed.
We had two monitors on set, one playing the actual scene with Marilyn and one playing us. We had to do everything in place or it wouldn’t move on. It was a lot of pressure work, but also we had fun.
Doing those scenes was overwhelming; it felt very strange and a little surreal.

Do you have any secret skills?
Well, I found out I’m not that bad at doing stunts. I’m much more athletic than I thought! And I’m really good at handling babies. Any baby that cries or is uncomfortable or won’t go to sleep or whatever, give it to me. I’ll let the baby sleep. I’m just good with them!
