Christmas Day 2022: How Is It Celebrated? COVID Effects On It

Published by

All Christians around the world celebrate Christmas with tremendous grandeur and devotion as the celebration of joy and happiness. Jesus Christ’s birth anniversary is remembered on this day.

The 25th of December is the traditional day for Christmas celebrations. Since there are many Catholics in the world, this event is observed with great intensity and excitement.

They go to church, light a candle, put on new outfits, and then go to late-night parties. Christians decorate their homes with a Christmas tree, flowers, and lights, invite their friends and family over, and cook homemade desserts and cakes that are then shared among friends and family.

Why Is Christmas Day Celebrated?

In light of this, we shall now analyze some of the most important components that explain how and why December 25 is honored as Jesus’ birthday.

James George Frazer, an anthropologist, included a chapter in his book The Golden Bough about the history of Christmas being celebrated on December 25. But there are many reasons why Frazer’s theory is wrong.

The day when Jesus was born is a topic of conversation in a number of different religious and historical traditions, including Christmas celebrations. The birth of Jesus is traditionally placed somewhere between the years 6 and 4 BC.

The religious and cultural significance of the annual Christmas celebration cannot be overstated. The word “Christmas” originates from the phrase “Mass of Christ.” The earliest known celebration of Christmas took place in the year 336, under the reign of Constantine, who was the first Christian Roman emperor and also the Roman emperor at the time.

The most popular Christmas tradition is the one in which Mary, the mother of Jesus, is informed that she will bear the Lord, a particular child. Nine months after Mother Mary purportedly heard this prophecy on March 25, Jesus was born on December 25. One of the reasons why December 25 is observed as Jesus’ birthday could be due to this.

Many individuals believe that the spiritual life is as it is today. They claim that there was a lot of anger, greed, and hypocrisy in the world prior to the birth of Jesus, but that Jesus’ birth eliminated all of these evils and brought about world peace.
